Meet Our Team
The Farmville Food Hub Board is made up of five members who represent key partners in the Farmville, NC community.
Board Members
Zac Hackney
President
Zac Hackney was raised in Chatham County North Carolina. After finishing a degree from UNC-Chapel Hill he started to pursue his passion to become a Chef. Working his way through the industry he ended up at The Fearrington House Inn, a Five Star Five Diamond resort where he became the Executive Sous Chef. Zac then went to work with his friend, Gabe Barker, at Pizzeria Mercato, a 3-time James Beard nominated Southern inspired pizzeria. Zac has now moved with his wife to Farmville, NC to help support her career and is excited to explore the opportunities the area has to offer. Zac is now the Local Food Coordinator for Pitt County and director of the Farmville Community Garden.
Rev. Morgan Daughety
Vice President
Morgan Daughety is senior minister at First Christian Church of Farmville. He is pleased to serve a church in a town with a local coffee roastery, a community garden, a brewery, a French bakery, and a robust community of people who enjoy good food and each other. When Morgan is not drinking coffee, he may be found making biscuits the way his mother taught him many years ago (He can do little else in the kitchen!), or working in his yard.
Janet Heath
Treasurer
Janet is originally from Newport, NC and got her Associate's degree in Library Science from Lenoir Community College and started working at the ECU Laupus Medical Library in 1981. She has recently retired and is totally enjoying retired life.
Janet started as the Community Outreach Kitchen Coordinator in 2009 and has been going strong ever since.
Jackie Sugg
Secretary
Jackie Sugg works at N.C. Cooperative Extension with the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and Steps to Health, SNAP-Ed. In her role she is fortunate to work alongside and learn from passionate educators, community partners, advocates, leaders and change-makers.

Previously, Jackie worked at the Pitt County Public Health Department for over 16 years. She credits this experience with laying the groundwork for a career dedicated to service.
AC Salaam
Member At Large
AC Salaam has family roots in Farmville. She grew up coming to the town every summer as a child to visit her mother's family. These experiences created a life-long connection to Farmville for AC and encouraged her to invest in the Farmville community when she was 25 years old.
AC decided to permanently move to Farmville several years ago and since then she has become very active in local community organizations including the Farmville Community Garden. AC is also involved in efforts to preserve the Historic H.B. Sugg School where her mother went to school.
